PLAY-IN! GUITAR TECHNIQUES WORKSHOP!

ooooh, what a great weekend we have planned. Here is the info on the blog that I emailed to you a few days ago:

This Saturday, Sept. 6 is our first group class of the season, which will be a play in on Sept. 6 from 3:00 - 4:00 with the Cheney studio at the church just to the north of Wasatch Jr. High on the corner of 3103 East 3600 South. We have really enjoyed these in the past since it is a great experience to work with the Cheneys and also so much fun to have lots more cellists around. There is no charge for the play-in since it is a group class.

Right afterwards from 4:30 - 6:00, for students 11 and up, book 4 and up, for $20 will be a great workshop: GUITAR TECHNIQUES FOR CELLO taught by Liz Maxfield.

Here is a description:
Want to play in a band? Learn guitar-style accompaniment techniques so you can feel at home in Rock, folk, and Jazz ensembles. Watch out guitar players... here comes the cello! Learning how to play chords, fills, and more will enhance your playing in any genre, from Beatles to Bluegrass. We'll be looking at multiple ways to accompany a tune in a variety of styles. We'll brush up of chordal theory and talk about reading charts. Then we'll put it together with the melody and create a cello band!

Contact me to save a spot for you.
