Cello Joy Christmas Concert in the library

SLPL auditorium side view

SLPL auditorium front view

Greetings Families!  Here is a blog post with everything you need to know about the Christmas Concert.  I have sent many emails with information over the past weeks, but now you can find it all here.

What:
Our annual all studio Christmas concert

Where:
Down town Salt Lake Public Library auditorium.

When:
Monday, December 17.  Students arrive at 6:30 (unless told otherwise), concert starts at 7:00.

What to bring:
cello, bow, rockstop or strap, music stand, binder, and small chair for those in the red group, or those who need it.  Label everything, especially rockstop, case and stand.

What to wear:
White blouse/sweater/nice button down shirt with black pants/skirts.  Ties optional

Seating:
After using the U of U music building for years, we have changed to the library auditorium to avoid the unpleasant seating situation of last year.  There will indeed be more seats and more space.  That being said, it will still be completely filled.  If small children sit on laps, or share seats, and we all know that a few people will end up standing, we will be fine. There will be much more room for this in this space. Please don't stand in front of the audio visual booth since that is reserved for wheelchair access which will be used.  Please let anyone pregnant or over 60 have a seat.

Order:
The original order and plan of seating for the concert was drastically changed on Tuesday 12/11.  Please attend group class or call me for clarification so the students know what they are doing.

Help:
I am going to need a few parent volunteers. Email or text me to let me know if you can be there at 6:00, or stay a bit later to help me.

Donations:
The library is not free, nor is the music or binders that the students use.  I am suggesting a $2 per person or $10 per family volunteer donation. There will be a parent and donation box available on the table outside of the auditorium before and after the concert.

Parking:
Parking is available in a garage underneath the library (~$6), or at metered spaces around the entire block ( $2 an hour or free after 8:00pm), or free if you don't mind walking a few blocks.  If you park in the garage under the library, be patient when exiting, and help things move more quickly by pre-paying your parking pass at one of the kiosks in the garage or library before you leave.
